Forecast analysis by Go Ultra Low, a UK initiative to increase consideration of purchasing electric cars, have predicted that the UK could find themselves in an electric car dominant world by 2027. With data analysis showing that 1.3 million new cars sold in the UK were electric, the Go Ultra Low program also foresees that the UK is staying on track for the government’s prediction that all new cars and vans will be electric by 2040.
In London, it has been shown that people are more likely to buy low emissions cars than anywhere else in Great Britain. Polls in the area show that 62% of respondents believe all cars in London will be electric or hybrid by 2025.
It appears that more people are interested in buying an electric or a hybrid car instead another type of car due to recent lower running costs. James Hind, of www.carwow.co.uk says that, “Clearly motorists are more bothered about the impact a car will have on their bank balance than the environment,” however it is still in the UK’s government’s interests to help this trend to slow the push of global warming.
