We all know that alternative energy, especially solar and wind power, is painted as being expensive. Many times it is too expensive for most people to access. However, the Obama Administration is set to change that, making solar energy available to every American.
A plan, called the Clean Energy Saving for All Initiative, was announced. It is set to bring at least one gigawatt of solar to low and moderate income families by 2020.

Many federal agencies have teamed up to begin to set this plan into action. With members from the Department of Energy (DOE), Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Agriculture (USDA), Health and Human Services (HHS), Veteran’s Affairs (VA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the project, the government is planning to allow homeowners and veterans to install solar panels and pay for them using savings from energy bills.
Yes, President Obama is right at the end of his term, but this plan will be scheduled to continue if the Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, takes the presidency. She has a plan that should increase US solar power by 700% by 2027. She wished to install half a billion solar panels in her first term, then making clean electricity available in every home within 10 years.
However, the Republican nominee for President, Donald Trump, much prefers fossil fuels to clean energy and plans to appoint someone from the fracking and oil industries to the energy secretary position. This would likely cancel out the new plan initiated by President Obama, due to the objection to the plan that would be shown by the members of Trump’s possible cabinet.
For those of us in favor of alternative energy, we can only hope that we get the best outcome possible from this election to boosts alternative energy usage.
